Choosing the right shade of your shoe polish is not easy and we often get questions like: "Should I choose medium brown or dark brown for my shoes?"
When it comes to Saphir Medaille D'or Pommadier and Saphir Pate De Luxe, there is quite a difference between the shades medium brown and dark brown. One shade in between these colours is Havana, which because of its name doesn't become as obvious a choice as medium brown or dark brown sometimes are. If the colour had a name like "between medium brown and dark brown" more people would probably choose this colour immediately.
In the following picture you can see the above mentioned shades:
From left: light brown, medium brown, havana, dark brown. Saphir Medaille D'or Pommadier (shoe polish) in the back row, Saphir Pate De Luxe (wax) in the front row.
Here are medium brown, havana and dark brown where you can clearly see the difference between medium brown and dark brown.
Medium brown on the far left, followed by havana and dark brown.
Another image clearly showing the differences in colour:
Another image, here in reverse order with dark brown on the far left followed by havana, medium brown and light brown.
Here's an example of a pair of shoes where havana was the perfect match.
Of course, it would have worked to choose dark brown for this shoe too, it's mostly a matter of taste and in this case we think the shoe is closer to its natural color with havana than with dark brown.
The shoe above is treated first with a coat of Saphir Medaille D'or Pommadier (Creme 1925) in Havana and then Saphir Pate De Luxe in Havana.
Saphir Pate De Luxe in Havana is only available in 100 ml packaging while other colours such as light brown, medium brown and dark brown are also available in 50 ml.
You can find our 50 ml range page here: Saphir Pate De Luxe 50 ml and the range of 100 ml here: Saphir Pate De Luxe 100 ml
